Farm Manager - Multi-site Management

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced agricultural/agribusiness professional to enhance their leadership skills within a growing, and well established primary industry operation. The role oversees multiple farms in North Otago and will focus on site management and the development of people and processes.

The company is a large, nationwide, market leader that has a proven record of success within their field. They are well resourced and have made significant investments in their farms, their production techniques, and their people. They are proactive about continuous improvement and developing long term plans that enhance their future business direction.

Reporting to the National Livestock Manager the role is responsible for the leadership and management of 4 farming operations to ensure production is maximised and best practice is achieved in all aspects of the business. Core tasks will include

  • Operational oversight of the farms
  • Training and mentoring Farm Managers to ensure operational independence and success
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of long term plans that reflect the desired direction of the company
  • Enhancing and developing processes and systems that reflect industry best practice
  • Developing a continuous improvement culture within the farm teams

The person we seek will possess an agricultural background, have natural leadership qualities and a genuine desire to mentor and develop their team. They will have a willingness to learn and the ability to lead from the front. An understanding of agricultural business operations from a financial, compliance, and quality platform would be an advantage.
