Medical Waste Courier

Our Dunedin based client have been delivering quality service and technical support to the Healthcare Industry throughout Otago and Southland for over 35 years. Due to a retirement within their team, an opportunity for a Medical Waste Courier has arisen and Select is proud to support them in their search.

For the successful person, full training would be provided by team who have been in the game a long time and know the ins and outs of the job like no one else. Alongside the driving duties, it also involves a variation of other tasks, sure to keep you on your toes.

Key tasks include;

  • Medical waste collections and driving duties throughout Dunedin
  • Full responsibility for an efficient run that meets customer needs and expectations
  • Building relationships with your customers
  • Vehicle fleet care
  • Stocking and loading of vehicles
  • Collection and delivery of equipment to clients
  • Completing dangerous goods paperwork
  • Stocktaking requirements as needed
  • Various other tasks as required on quieter days

The perfect candidate;

  • Class 2 Drivers Licence with good level of experience
  • A Dangerous Goods Licence is beneficial, but will be provided for the right person
  • Excellent customer service ethos
  • Ability to work independently & under time pressure while maintaining high level of service
  • A record of employment that proves great reliability, commitment and flexibility
  • Good physical fitness and an energetic 'get up and go' approach
  • Problem solver with a can-do attitude

This role is predominantly based in Dunedin, however the flexibility to do out of town runs as needed on occasion would be advantageous. To have a head start in this role, you will have familiarity with Dunedin City and/or the confidence to manage the challenges of driving and parking trucks in built up areas under time pressure. However, for the right person with the right experience, this can be picked up quickly. We are looking for someone that will always represent the brand to a high standard when they are out and about.
