Select Recruitment is delighted to be partnering our client in their search for a Site Manager the position is based from Dunedin. As a nationwide organisation who manufacture and distribute food products, they have well developed markets and logistical networks. They take pride in their reputation for producing and distributing quality products. Their operations site in Otago is the company's primary facility in the South Island, and operations include packing and grading of product, a processing division, warehousing and distribution functions.

The role

Reporting to the Divisional Business Unit manager, the Site Manager can be assured of proactive support, and a commitment to continuous improvement that is embraced in the highest levels of the organisation.

The Site manager is responsible for the efficient and effective running of the production site and its operational divisions - production, distribution, and maintenance. Total staff numbers are 75, with 5 direct reports. With the support of your high performing supervisory team, the role will have a strong focus on people leadership and development, continuous improvement of systems and processes, enhancing production efficiencies and ensuring products are seamlessly distributed throughout the region.

On a day-to-day basis you will

  • Lead operational performance
  • Manage people performance, development and recruitment
  • Implement production and distribution schedules that optimise efficiencies
  • Manage an operating budget and management reporting
  • Liaise across functions to ensure quality, compliance and safety standards are adhered to
  • Pro-actively address and resolve any issues relating to the operation

The site is based in Waikouaiti (40Km's north of Dunedin) and daily commuting from Dunedin is a viable option. The role is Monday to Friday, though the site processes 7 days per week.
