Select is delighted to be partnering our client in their search for a Business Accountant. They are a nationwide operation that owns multiple business activities ranging from agriculture, manufacturing as well as being a significant player within the NZ FMCG industry.

As a Business Accountant you will join a team of financial professionals in their corporate head office. Because of company's extensive operations it is a role that offers a range of accounting activities, scope for development, and the opportunity to manage your business function.

Core aspects of the role

  • Analysing and reporting on costs to ensure Managers maintain a good financial understanding of their operation
  • Collating financial information for management and cost accounting purposes
  • Assisting with compliance, tax and statutory accounting on an annual basis
  • Assisting with capital projects and managing costs when required.
  • Having oversight of the inventory function (full training provided), which will include supervision of a small team.

The opportunity

This is an intermediate level role and would be ideal for someone with 5 years work experience within a corporate or CA environment who is looking to extend their skill base.

You will be exposed to a multifaceted business operation, and will gain experience across a variety of accounting and business analysis functions.

You will develop relationships with internal managers, providing financial advice that can add significant value

Your professional development may include developing the skills to provide oversight of a business function

The skills we seek

  • A relevant qualification and at least 5 years industry or CA experience
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • An advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • A sound understanding of accounting principles and understanding of data flows via ERP systems (D365)
  • A strong eye for detail and accuracy
  • An ability to organise your workload and work under pressure.
