Transfer Station Operator

Work within a small team, processing inwards and outwards waste and recycling management services for our client's Dunedin Transfer Station.

You will be responsible for the safe and tidy operation of the transfer station, recycling area and assisting with general enquires from the public, while maintaining a professional image of the company and delivering high-quality customer service.

We're offering a lot of variety of work, full on-the-job training, ongoing career development and full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.

Let's talk about the role:

• Manage the placement of deposited consumer waste and recyclables
• Perform hands-on, general labouring duties and operate plant equipment
• Directing traffic and provide information to customers
• Maintain cleanliness of all buildings, roadways, and surroundings
• Carry out administration, completing paperwork & information recording
• Receiving, inspecting, and selling of goods in the reuse shop

What we are looking for:

• Prepared to get your 'hands dirty' with a good level of fitness and motivation
• Can problem solve and sound decision making
• Experience in operating plant vehicle equipment or forklift
• Understanding of administration, record keeping and management workspace
• Ability to communicate with other and carry out customer service
• Long-term employment investment
