The Role
Reporting to the Processing Supervisor, you will operate and monitor the Snowy River processing plant and associated fixed and mobile equipment, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
You'll work across all areas of the processing circuit, including:
- Crushing and milling
- Gravity and intensive leach circuits
- Flotation
- Concentrate filtration and bagging
- Tailings placement and management
- Water recovery and delivery systems
This hands-on position will suit experienced processing plant operators, or mechanically minded individuals looking to build a rewarding career in mineral processing.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations
- Operate and monitor processing plant equipment to maximise safety, performance and recovery.
- Monitor process flows and adjust operating parameters to optimise plant performance.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Monitor and maintain site water management systems.
- Identify and report equipment issues to minimise downtime.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor consumables and reagent usage.
- Raise maintenance requests and spare parts requirements as needed.
- Contribute ideas that improve plant performance, reliability and safety.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with shift crews and site personnel.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and incident investigations when required.
- Support a positive and safety-focused team culture.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Follow site procedures and safe work practices at all times.
- Report hazards, incidents and near misses promptly.
- Maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
- Ensure work areas remain clean, safe and organised.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- Previous experience in a mineral processing plant, industrial environment, manufacturing operation, or similar role; or strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn.
- A genuine commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Physical capability to work in an operating processing plant and undertake shift work.
- A current driver's licence.
Highly Regarded
- Experience in gold processing operations.
- Experience within grinding and flotation plants.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems or process control software.
- Forklift, loader, telehandler or other machinery operating competencies.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
