ITS Line Mechanic

Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable ITS Line Mechanic to join a high-performing team delivering maintenance and installation services across Queenstown's traffic signals, street lighting, and electronic signage network.

In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking, scheduling, and coordinating street lighting builds, installations, and maintenance. You'll work closely with ITS staff, supervisors, subcontractors, and plant operators to ensure all work is delivered to a consistently high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake, schedule, and coordinate street lighting and associated electrical works
  • Deliver installation, maintenance, and upgrade works across traffic signals, street lighting, and electronic signs
  • Work closely with supervisors, ITS team members, subcontractors, and plant operators to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance across all tasks
  • Assist with a range of field-based work across other contracts as required
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant regulations and quality standards

Skills & Experience

  • Completed Apprenticeship or Trade Qualification in Electrical
  • Current Electrical Registration with a valid practising licence
  • Experience in construction and maintenance environments (highly desirable)
  • Current driver's licence (relevant classes required)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach

Additional Requirements

  • Physical fitness and stamina to undertake demanding manual work in varying conditions
  • Experience or exposure to civil works
  • Height safety and EWP (Elevated Work Platform) competency
  • Strong commitment to health and safety practices
