The Role
We are seeking experienced Jumbo Operators for permanent, full-time positions in Greymouth. You will work in a fast-paced underground environment, operating a jumbo rig while supporting safe and efficient mine development.
This role operates on a 7 days on / 7 days off roster, with some flexibility available to support work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Jumbo Operation
- Operate a jumbo rig to achieve development targets safely and efficiently
- Install ground support in line with the Ground Control Management Plan
- Bore development headings to required profiles and standards
- Assist with installation and maintenance of underground services
- Support development charge-up and related underground tasks
- Follow mine plans and communicate effectively across crews and shifts
- Complete required reports, documentation and checklists
- Maintain clear and professional radio communications
Safety and Compliance
- Lead by example in maintaining a strong safety culture
- Identify, report and manage hazards proactively
- Ensure compliance with site health, safety and environmental procedures
- Participate in safety inspections and verification activities
- Adhere to all statutory requirements and operational standards
- Maintain fitness for work, including strict drug and alcohol compliance
About You
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Jumbo Operator
- Experience in underground mining (metalliferous, tunnelling or production)
- Relevant Jumbo Operator certification
- Full Manual Driver's Licence
- First Aid Certificate
- WTR and Class 2/4 licences (or willingness to obtain)
